Titan Freeport is hiring an Electrical Engineer who wants to do more than maintain equipment—we’re looking for someone who can improve how our plant runs. In this role, you’ll bring practical electrical engineering and automation expertise to the floor, helping solve real manufacturing challenges, strengthen reliability, and support the teams who keep production moving.
About the Role
This position plays a hands-on role in keeping our manufacturing operation safe, reliable, and improving. The Electrical Engineer will design, program, troubleshoot, and upgrade industrial electrical and automation systems, including Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, instrumentation, power distribution, and related plant equipment. The right candidate will be comfortable moving between technical problem-solving, project execution, documentation, vendor coordination, and practical support for maintenance, engineering, and operations.
What You’ll Do
- Design, program, test, and implement Allen-Bradley PLC logic, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and MicroLogix platforms using ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
- Build and improve automation sequences, interlocks, safety logic, HMIs, and controls that support safe and efficient plant operations.
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues involving drives, sensors, instrumentation, control circuits, wiring, schematics, power distribution, MCCs, and industrial equipment.
- Lead automation upgrades, migrations, reliability improvements, and continuous improvement projects from concept through commissioning.
- Partner with maintenance, engineering, operations, vendors, contractors, and project managers to solve problems and deliver practical, business-aligned solutions.
- Support Cojen boiler control systems, steam generation, condensate return, pumps, and related automation and electrical components.
- Maintain PLC/HMI backups, version control, engineering documentation, drawings, change records, and other technical records.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, vendors, and contractors while keeping safety, quality, reliability, and plant priorities in focus.
- Help ensure electrical work and automation systems align with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and plant safety standards.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; technical degrees or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of industrial electrical, automation, or controls experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs and related automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and control documentation.
- Proficiency with computers, engineering software, and CAD tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- A practical, safety-minded approach and the ability to communicate clearly with plant teams, technical partners, vendors, and leadership.
