Professional Medical Coding Educator Auditor – Health Care Services

We’re seeking a Professional Medical Coding Educator Auditor to partner with clinicians, coding associates, and documentation specialists across our system. In this role, you’ll ensure coding consistency and compliance, support data integrity for billing and reporting, and contribute to improved clinical outcomes.

As a key resource, you’ll perform audits using tools such as IntelliCode or other approved software, ensuring medical records are coded according to official guidelines and regulations. You’ll also provide mentorship and education for new and existing coding staff, standardize workflows, and assist with Epic and other EHR-related coding processes.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct detailed coding audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and organizational standards.
• Provide education and feedback to clinicians and coding teams on documentation and coding practices.
• Mentor and guide new coding staff and support ongoing staff education.
• Assist with coding workflow standardization and process improvement across multiple systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including CDI leadership, clinical staff, and compliance partners.

What You’ll Bring

• Certification required: CPC, COC, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P
• CPMA required
• Minimum of 3 years of multi-specialty coding experience using official CPT, ICD-10-CM, and E/M guidelines.
• Deep knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and outpatient coding standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a focus on accuracy, education, and continuous improvement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $31.54 - $47.32 per hour

Expected hours: 80 per week
