About Us

We're a small but mighty creative business designing exclusive, high-end laser cut files for makers all over the world. One day we're running a laser and smelling freshly cut cedar, the next we're filming tutorials, launching new designs, and answering questions from our amazing members. No two days look the same, and that's exactly how we like it.

The Role

We're looking for an organized, detail-loving human to spend their days designing laser files, solving creative problems, and helping launch products people are genuinely excited to make. You'll live in Adobe Illustrator, watch your designs come to life on the laser, and bounce between illustration, testing, writing instructions, and dreaming up what's next.

If you like wearing lots of hats, learning new things, and making creative chaos feel organized, you'll probably fit right in.

What You'll Do

Design. Take laser files from concept to finished product, create vector illustrations in Adobe Illustrator, dream up projects our maker community will get excited about, and design the YouTube thumbnails, marketing graphics, and launch materials that show them off.

Quality control. Test files before release and catch the tiny issues customers should never see: alignment, spacing, consistency, a curve that looks just a little off. Think through how someone will actually assemble and use each project.

Make it repeatable. Build and improve the templates, checklists, naming conventions, and assembly instructions that keep a growing file library organized. If you spot a faster, cleaner, smarter way to do something, we want to hear it.

Behind the scenes. Photograph finished projects and help film and edit tutorials and social content. Learn to run the laser (don't worry, we'll train you) and pitch in on production, plus the odd jobs that keep a small studio humming. (Occasionally that includes helping Robin find her calipers.)

What You Bring

• An eye for art and design (if you have a portfolio, we'd love to see it).
• Intermediate or higher knowledge of Adobe Illustrator or similar vector software.
• You naturally notice tiny inconsistencies that that other people miss. Misaligned graphics, spelling mistakes, uneven spacing, or a weird-looking curve catch your eye. (You noticed there were two "that"s earlier in this bullet, didn't you?)
• You genuinely enjoy organizing information. Checklists, naming conventions, templates, and folders make your brain happy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A fast, fearless learner: new software doesn't intimidate you, you like automating repetitive tasks and finding shortcuts, and you're comfortable saying "I've never used that before" and then teaching yourself enough to be dangerous by the end of the afternoon.
• You're equally happy working independently or bouncing ideas around with someone else.
• The ability to work alongside a creative boss with ADHD (translation: you'll eventually learn Robin-speak, and when she's just thinking out loud).

Bonus Points For Experience With…

• A creative or small business environment
• Marketing, content creation, or social media
• Video editing or photography
• Laser cutters, woodworking, or other maker tools
• ClickUp or similar project management software
• Drawing, illustration, product design, vector, or graphic design
• Spatial visualization (mentally rotating objects is surprisingly useful here)

A Few Other Things to Know

• You won't hear the toxic "we're like a family" line here.
• We swear a little, dress casual, and get messy. Sawdust, charred wood, and the occasional smear of acrylic paint come with the territory. Robin is also a little feral (don't worry, she doesn't bite).
• We care far more about curiosity, kindness, and a willingness to learn than about already knowing everything. Being able to admit you made a mistake is a genuinely valuable skill around here.

The Details

• Part-time (20 hours per week), in person at our workshop studio.
• Starting at $25/hour, with higher pay based on experience.
• Must be comfortable around machinery and able to lift up to 30 lbs (wood can be heavy, after all).
