Colorado Public Radio (CPR) is seeking two Broadcast Sound Engineers.
About the Position:
The Broadcast Sound Engineer works on the News Production team to provide technical support for the CPR newsroom. This role has a mix of scheduled production responsibilities such as live board operation for Colorado Matters, preparing promos and audio segments for live shows, supporting taped interviews in the studio, completing Colorado Today podcast post-production, mixing news features, providing live event sound reinforcement and offering audio training to the CPR newsroom. This role provides journalists and producers with the technical support needed to create, produce, and deliver high-quality audio storytelling to air, enabling exceptional audience experiences across CPR's platforms.
The new hire is expected to reside in the greater Denver metro area upon starting - this is not a remote position. However, a hybrid schedule is available that requires a minimum of 3 days in the office each week.
About You:
You’re a skilled audio producer who can record, edit, mix and troubleshoot audio in both studio and live event environments. Strong attention to detail is essential, as your work supports live broadcasts, tight deadlines, and complex technical operations. You’re able to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced production settings. You have excellent communication and active listening skills that enable you to build effective working relationships with internal and external teams. You bring curiosity, reliability, sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills to your work, along with a willingness to support the broader needs of the team when priorities shift.
