Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Structural Engineer, or licensed Architect with structural emphasis to lead the design and delivery of structural systems for a variety of building projects and related systems. This position combines hands-on engineering, project leadership, client coordination, and mentoring of junior staff. The ideal candidate brings strong technical experience, sound judgment, and the ability to deliver practical, code-compliant solutions in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead structural analysis, design, and delivery for new construction, renovations, additions, and existing building assessments.
· Prepare and review calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documents.
· Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
· Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and technical quality across multiple assignments.
· Provide construction-phase support, including submittal review, RFIs, and site observations.
· Mentor junior architects, engineers, and designers and contribute to QA/QC standards and team development.
· Support client relationships, proposals, and business development efforts.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Architecture, or Civil Engineering. Master’s preferred.
· Illinois Structural Engineer or Architecture license required, or ability to obtain Illinois licensure within 3 months of hire.
· 5+ years of structural engineering experience in building design.
· Strong knowledge of steel design, concrete, masonry, wood, and related structural systems.
· Experience with building codes and relevant industry standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI.
· Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
· Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software.
· Must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S. (e.g., U.S. citizen, Green Card holder) without the need for current or future employer visa sponsorship.
