Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior MES Specialist to join a dynamic manufacturing technology team at a critical stage of systems transformation. In this highly visible role, you will serve as a key technical resource responsible for the health, performance, and continuous improvement of Manufacturing Execution Systems across multiple business units. Day-to-day, you will troubleshoot complex system issues, support infrastructure components, lead upgrade cycles, and work proactively to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks before they impact production operations.This role operates at the intersection of manufacturing operations and IT infrastructure, requiring both functional MES expertise and deep technical knowledge of servers, databases, system architecture, and integrations. You will collaborate closely with operations teams, IT leadership, and business stakeholders, and will contribute to long-term modernization initiatives with real, measurable impact on operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, strong diagnostic instincts, and a passion for making complex manufacturing environments run better.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and optimize enterprise MES environments across multiple manufacturing operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve MES system issues, performance bottlenecks, and operational disruptions in a timely manner.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, operations, infrastructure, and IT teams to diagnose and resolve system challenges.
- Lead or support MES upgrades, enhancements, patch deployments, and new feature implementations.
- Identify opportunities for proactive system improvements and performance optimization across the manufacturing technology landscape.
- Manage and support back-end technical components including servers, databases, system architecture, and third-party integrations.
- Improve system reliability, scalability, and overall user experience for manufacturing operations stakeholders.
- Collaborate with existing internal MES resources and subject matter experts to align on best practices and standards.
- Support manufacturing-related applications tied to MES workflows and operational processes.
- Participate in long-term modernization and Oracle-related initiatives impacting manufacturing systems.
- Document technical configurations, processes, troubleshooting procedures, and operational runbooks.
Required Experience & Skills
- 8+ years of hands-on MES experience within manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems and manufacturing operations workflows.
- Demonstrated experience supporting both functional and technical aspects of MES platforms.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-stakes production environments.
- Experience working with servers, databases, system performance analysis, and technical architecture.
- Ability to work directly and effectively with both operational stakeholders and technical teams.
- Experience diagnosing system slowness, workflow inefficiencies, and production-related system issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Formula/MES environments or similar specialized manufacturing execution systems.
- Experience supporting enterprise manufacturing applications across multiple geographically distributed business units.
- Familiarity with Oracle-related manufacturing initiatives or ERP system integrations.
- Experience supporting maintenance and manufacturing support platforms such as TabWare or similar CMMS/EAM tools.
- Background in heavy manufacturing, building materials, cement, paper, aggregates, or other industrial environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale manufacturing operations with complex, multi-site architectures.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Pay: $160,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
