NGA predecessor agency, the Defense Mapping Agency, was instrumental in the execution of real-time combat in Desert Storm by– 🗺️ producing more than 54 million paper maps and 640,000 point positioning database elements 🌐 providing more than 100 million sheets 🚢 supporting amphibious assaults with over 600 digital hydrographic and bathymetric products DMA provided timely geospatial support that proved valuable during the Gulf War, a legacy of excellence carried on today by NGA.
