I applied online. I interviewed at Autodesk (Bangalore Rural) in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview started with a straightforward coding problem, but the expectations kept shifting toward system design and architectural discussions without clearly defining the requirements upfront. Even after providing a working solution, the interviewer continuously changed the problem and expected increasingly abstract design improvements, making it difficult to understand the actual evaluation criteria. It felt like there was a specific solution in mind rather than an evaluation of different valid engineering approaches
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Implement a configurable card network detection function based on card number prefixes and lengths, then evolve the solution to support overlapping rules, length ranges, regex matching, and extensible design.

Interview
It was good. I was interviewed for C++ developer Bengaluru, so all the questions were advanced c++ concepts and coding covering from basics to multi threading, STL and lil bit of DSA.
### Interview Process

* Discussed my background, experience, salary, relocation and interest in the role.
* Covered the team, position, and interview process.
**Round 2: Hiring Manager Screening**
* Focused on my previous projects, technical experience, and problem-solving approach.
* Included discussion around my impact, responsibilities, and relevant technologies.
**Round 3: Technical Interview (45 minutes)**
The interview consisted of two parts:
1. **Coding Exercise**
* Solved an easy matrix-based LeetCode-style problem.
* Focused on problem-solving, code quality, and communication.
2. **AI-Assisted React Development**
* Implemented a React feature using an AI-assisted coding environment.
* Evaluated on React fundamentals, implementation approach, and effective use of AI tools.
**Outcome**
* The next stage of the process was a System Design interview.
* Unfortunately, I did not advance beyond the technical round.

Interview
1 - Hiring manager - your experience and goals
2 - Behavioral and coding
3 - Experience with AWS
4 - cultural round
Overall I really liked the position and the team. Had a feeling that I passed all rounds and everything went well. Unfortunately, they hired someone else.
What I didn’t like was that the whole process took almost 1.5 months. Also recruiters are not very responsive and not organized. Asked for a feedback - nothing.
