      High workload and expectations with low wage

      Workload provides ability to gain relevant skills quickly. Freedom to implement changes without much oversight.

      Cons

      Low pay for the amount of effort necessary. Legacy software with very few transferable skills.

      Nice people tied to dying technology

      Pros

      Nice people, relaxed office environment. No pressure to work crazy overtime - good for work-life balance. Reasonably good insurance and benefits package.

      Cons

      No raises in recent memory. Tied to PowerBuilder tech stack with no plan for getting off of it. Some "friends & family" hires appear to have job security far beyond what their performance warrants.
