Pros

The headquarters for Perfetti van Melle USA is a nice building in Northern Kentucky that includes a half mile walking trail around their property. They have great brand recognition (Mentos, Airheads, Airheads Xtremes) and their global footprint allows the company to continue to grow in the confection arena. The company does a good job recruiting and hiring very good people (both personally and professionally) for levels below Director.

Cons

Perfetti van Melle USA has the opportunity to become a great place to work. This will not happen until there is a culture shift among the leadership team. For all of the great people working below the Director level, they do not do as good of a job getting good people for Director level and above. The environment is not as fun as it should be, nor is it healthy. You feel like you need to watch over your shoulder as you go about your work.

Pros

Not many pros to speak of after Perfetti Van Melle purchased the company from Mondolēz. They touted all sorts of things about work/life balance and not having mandatory overtime, then almost immediately had my department working 6 days a week, 12 hours on weekdays and 8 on Saturdays. That went on for almost a year, then we went down to 10 hour days 6 days a week, which is what I believe the department is still working. Also, they decreased the pay for their operators by five dollars an hour and have been steadily getting rid of anyone that was grandfathered in at the higher pay. They do offer bonuses, Sam's club or Costco memberships, and $500 yearly reimbursement for money spent towards hobbies and wellness, but you don't have time to enjoy what you purchase.

Cons

•No work/life balance due to mandatory overtime •Mediocre pay •Lack or quality control standards due to pressure to put out product •People are numbers to be discarded and replaced. Operators that worked for Mondolēz, then Perfetti, grandfathered in at a higher pay, ran their line while training new operators on that line and also being expected to babysit and help new, barely trained operators on nearby lines. They had us running ragged, then when they had other operators trained, they found reasons to fire the ones at a higher pay grade. They'd then complain about low productivity. Lol, what do they expect?
