Pros

You can learn a lot (knowledge, tools, communication and cultures worldwide). Stable job, once you are there, you can stay there until retirement.

Cons

Salary is extremely low. If you know many things, they will let you do everything alone and still adding more and more without gratitude. Nepotism, culture, tight deadlines, doing the additional job of management as they are very slow and lazy.

Pros

Excellent engineering team excluding the upper management.

Cons

My experience with the Heathrow Operations Director was overwhelmingly negative. I found him to be untrustworthy and primarily focused on protecting his own interests rather than supporting his team. In my experience, when issues arise, employees should not expect meaningful support from him and may instead find themselves taking the blame for problems beyond their control. Anyone considering a role within the Heathrow operation should proceed with caution. The position I accepted did not reflect the reality of the role once I joined. The level of responsibility, authority, and autonomy that was presented during the recruitment process was not what I ultimately experienced, making it difficult to effectively manage the department as intended. During my time there, I observed numerous warning signs relating to the culture, leadership, and decision-making processes. I also witnessed practices involving subcontractors that raised serious concerns regarding governance, transparency, and professional standards. Ironically, employees are required to complete multiple training courses covering corruption, conflicts of interest, and the acceptance of gifts or inducements. These training sessions only served to highlight behaviours and practices that, in my view, appeared inconsistent with the standards being promoted. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage prospective employees to conduct thorough due diligence before joining and to ask detailed questions about leadership, accountability, departmental autonomy, and the level of support they can realistically expect.
