Pros

The design team is strong, insightful, and compassionate. Teammates believe in the crypto economy and are very knowledgeable in the field.

Cons

You will be treated with disrespect by those close to the CEO. You are a resource which is expected to have no opinion, do what you’re told, and work long hours. You will watch your teammates become anxious and riddled with life-long health problems. You will notice everyone with an opinion gets fired. You will become a pessimist. The stock options are worthless.

Pros

Relatively high salary with good benefits

Cons

1. If you don't speak Chinese, you're going to struggle here. This isn't just my opinion—it's a fact. When I joined three years ago (back when the company was still OKCoin), things were much more balanced with a decent work-life balance and a diverse team. However, after the merger with OKX, it feels like we only hire Chinese employees, and meetings are conducted entirely in Chinese. People are expected to use auto-subtitles, which is just absurd. 2. Poor Management & Constantly Changing Priorities: In the crypto industry, it's normal to shift priorities. But the way it’s done here is chaotic. Projects will be 50% completed, then abruptly abandoned for something else. This all stems from poor leadership and disorganization at the top. 3. Toxic Culture & Politics: This company has the most political environment I’ve ever experienced. The CEO’s word is treated as absolute, and there’s an unhealthy level of idolization around him. I’ve even seen the CEO publicly criticize employees in group chats with 100+ people, saying things like "I don't think you're good at this job." If that seems reasonable to you, this might be the place for you. 4. No Work-Life Balance: Since it’s effectively run like a "Chinese" company, you're expected to work with teams in China during the night. As a result, there’s no work-life balance whatsoever.
