Where good ideas and intelligence go to die

Pros

Great ideas for the company and the industry Generally hire smart and motivated people into lower positions

Cons

Those good ideas will never get put into full action due to terrible leadership, the inability to execute on anything, and focus on the wrong things. In over a year at the company my experience included week after week of being completely unable to do my job due to various hoops to jump through until there was no point in even trying. Management seems to believe that leadership is done by belittling employees and insisting on escalating every decision, including minor ones, to President and CEO level resulting in stagnation. If you do want to do your job be ready to have at least 3-4 meetings about your basic change/idea/etc. getting ready to present it to the President and CEO, including making a formal slideshow presentation for something that could be an email, only to have that presentation be derailed into whatever they've come up with in their minds within the first 5 minutes of starting (which by the way will be 15 minutes late due to no fault of your own). After they do that also be prepared to be held back and lectured (possibly yelled at) for how poorly your presentation went - despite that from the start it wasn't your presentation. From the above you can see that the culture is their biggest problem but most of IHR leadership will try to convince you that just the opposite is true. A significant amount of time is spent on foolish events and activities to help foster a good culture, rather than listening to employees who expressly state that the belittling, micromanaging, horrible treatment, and inability to actually get work done is the problem. Rather than follow the QL culture (which does a much better job empowering employees and creating a generally happy and positive work environment- I know because I also worked there) IHR puts up a false sense of culture while actively destroying reasonable expectations for a workplace.

I’d like to first say thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, however difficult it may be to hear, it does give us an opportunity to pause and reflect on what we can do better. Based on your feedback, neither of our expectations were met, as I can assure you that this is not the type of environment we expect for our team members. If you would be willing, I would love to better understand your situation. My hope would be to understand the specifics so that we could make a difference going forward. If you would like to share more about your experience, please contact me at DSeabolt@InHouseRealty.com. Sincerely, Doug Seabolt

Pros

-Relationship to Quicken Loans -Company Perks -Coworkers (until they inevitably stab you in the back)

Cons

-Open Office Environment -Theft of Ideas -Poor Management -CEO doesn't know your name unless you are of the opposite gender -Nepotism -Meetings galore -No communication -No advancement Often times the things you need in order to do your job effectively are denied. Ideas presented to leadership are met with extreme criticism and contempt for a short period of time (two-four weeks) until YOUR idea is reintroduced to your team or the company as a WHOLE as your LEADER's idea. Team members are often kept in the dark and clueless as to what other portions of the company are doing. There are a lot of people with limited social skills and the amount of back-stabbing to get ahead is palpable. Honestly, be very careful if you decide to work here. Once the "honeymoon" phase is over, you will quickly see the dark side of this organization and the politics at play here. Finally, the CEO's email listed below on reviews is incorrect which shows they have marketing people responding to negative reviews here and not the actual CEO.

It’s obvious your experience here wasn’t as either of us would have hoped. Given your comments had so many false and vindictive statements I was almost inclined not to dignify it with a response, but I simply couldn’t allow your erroneous rant about our Team Members to go without correction. You see, I know our Team Members for who they really are and they are not at all what you describe! The TM’s at IHR are smart, they work hard, they’re passionate, they care, they give back and they are great people who focus every day on having a positive impact on others. I see it in them every single day and I’m proud of each and every one of them! It’s unfortunate you don’t know them as I do. Additionally, I have several people monitor our social networks with me, but rest assured the email address DSeabolt@inhouserealty.com for these reviews is indeed mine and if you’d like, feel free to email and we can engage in a conversation about your time here at IHR. Sincerely, Doug Seabolt

Pros

Rocket Companies offers great benefits.

Cons

-Expectations change daily, if not hourly -High stress and low pay -Zero respect from higher ups unless you are a consistent high producer (aka you better NEVER have a bad day) -Hard to get time with your direct boss -Not much room for growth unless you're a man -Leadership gets too involved in your personal life. -HR claims they are employee advocates, but at the end of the day, HR is not your friend -Extremely high employee turnover. They love to hire a ton of spaghetti, throw it all at the wall, and see what sticks rather than hiring quality employees and making sure they do enough to keep those employees happy enough to not quit 2 weeks later -Rocket claims to value work life balance, but you're often shamed for clocking out at 7pm (after being asked to clock in by 8am for a 10 minute huddle) -Every single role at the company immediately throws ypu in the golden handcuffs: they pay you slightly more than everyone else and tell horror stories about people who have left before. That way you can never quit. -It's just a little cult-y
