From Elsevier, happy #GirlsinICT Day. As part of #GirlsinICT Day 2023 and beyond, we support technology education and skills training. We encourage more girls and young women to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). For girls and young women to thrive in STEM careers, they need to acquire skills to become both ICT users and creators in the digital world. That’s why this year's theme is “Digital Skills for Life.” For technology to keep up, it needs more women. The digital revolution can only be truly inclusive if women and girls participate. As we celebrate #GirlsInICTDay, we encourage everyone to invest in digital skills development programs. As a result, girls will be equipped with the digital skills they need to succeed in the digital age. Elsevier is one of the 10 best companies for diverse talent. While many companies claim to prioritize diversity in the workplace, delivering on those promises is another matter. Comparably, a platform that provides compensation and culture data for companies, had workers themselves put their employers to the test. Comparably ranked 100 companies with 500 or more employees based on anonymous feedback from employees of colour. Final rankings were decided by the responses to nearly 20 workplace culture methods, such as compensation, career growth, leadership, coworkers and work-life balance. Notably, these metrics are similar to the ones used for Comparably's "Best Company Culture" ranking, but with a focus on how BIPOC workers respond.
