3.14 = pi. 3/14 = today. Pi + today = Pie Day! We celebrated pi day today with lots and lots of pie. People were chomping at the bits to dig into the wonderful pie. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMC7v
Howdy Houston - we are so glad you're here! We are thrilled to have opened our Houston offices in the Westchase district. Our first employees started with BDC on February 4th. We hosted a special company meeting with video so everyone could "meet" and "see" our newest teammates in Houston! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMC75
We love partnerships and are very excited about our recent partnership with American Express. We're streamlining and automating AP processes. In true BDC fashion, we celebrated with cake (who doesn't love cake?) and fanfare. Our CEO, René, banged the gong to kick off the celebration. 'Tis the season... with holidays and celebrations galore, we kicked off the week with a visit from Santa (aka, our CEO René). Santa walked through our space inviting everyone to answer trivia questions - correct answers were rewarded with prizes! Santa is always a big hit with everyone. Next up - bake off on Tuesday, and holiday lunch on Wednesday. Happy holidays to you all!
We love new product features, and just announced one of our newest features this week - International Payments. BDC customers can now make international business payments (to nearly 40 countries) with the same ease and efficiency as domestic business payments - and save money in the process. We are thrilled to be awarded a CPA Practice Advisor Technology Innovation Award for our new user experience! Our new user experience was developed based on 60 studies, hundreds of hours of user research, and input from more than 350 organizations - it allows accountants to enter bills and make payments 3x faster than before! Our Sr Director of UX, Kostas, and one of our Dev managers, Manish, accepted the award. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQmxl
We love t-shirts at BDC. We get a new one every year (and sometimes more). We just hung all of our historical t-shirts on one of the main walls in our offices - it is so cool to see all of them - some going back to 2006 (when BDC - then known as Cashview - began). It's fun asking others how many shirts thay have! Check it out (and pardon the sneeze). http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQ1C8
Even though summer has just begun, at BDC we are wrapping up our fiscal year 2018 - it ends for us on June 30th. Our CEO, René, reflected on our momentum over the past year and compared business to jazz "Business is like jazz. The best teams are like the best jazz ensembles. The leader knows how and when to provide structure so that the other players have the freedom to improvise. Collaboration is an iterative process, and you can’t get to the top of your game without knowing how to get the most out of the people you work with. So, here’s to the BDC team for all it has accomplished in the past year and all it will accomplish as we continue to grow." Read his full post here: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQmxi
Friday was National Donut Day and, yes, we had donuts here at BDC. Lots and lots of donuts! We have twice-monthly themed happy hours and, of course, Friday's was donuts. It was fun to see everyone making their way to the kitchen when it was time. You could smell the sweet sugary donut goodness as you approached the kitchen. We do love our happy hours and having fun, and, as Homer Simpson said, "Donuts. Is there anything they can't do?" http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQTya
We recently launched an initiative to include BDC customers in our monthly company meetings. After a bit of planning, we were joined in our May Company Meeting by Chuck from Kidstown International. It was very inspirational to hear how BDC enables Chuck and Kidstown to focus on their mission of helping abandoned children in Romania, India, and Nepal. Chuck said that at Kidstown they encourage people who have been discouraged in life. While Chuck was talking to us, he said that BDC has given him "a lot of freedom" and BDC has made their accounting processes "much faster." He left us by saying, "I love your system... Thanks for creating it for us." Hearing from our clients about how BDC makes it easy for them to connect and do business helps us all see the positive impact of our work. Check Kidstown out - they are pretty awesome: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQKTE
