Are you a Blockchain novice or guru? No matter, our SVP of Engineering, Vinay Pai, wrote an informative blog about it (you'll learn about databases, 1700s Venice merchants, smart contracts, and more) and how Blockchain can be used for things other than crypto-currencies (the country of Georgia is using it and so is Banco Santander, and not for Bitcoin). Check out Vinay's blog for a peek behind the curtain of how we are developing new technologies for our customers. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQWeZ
We value all of our employees and their authenticity, passion, humility, dedication, and fun(ness)! As our CEO, René, wrote, "Diversity is the only way forward." We heard a story from author Craig Weber about Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln purposefully filled his Cabinet with people whose agendas clashed with his own AND each others'. He did this because he knew contrasting points of view would help him make wiser, more informed decisions. René's sentiment echoes this, "When solving problems, the more viewpoints the better. We would not be where it is today without the hard work and commitment of our awesome team. We're honored to be recognized by the San Francisco Business Times and the Silicon Valley Business Journal as a “2018 Bay Area Best Place to Work.” http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQfmj
After a brief hiatus, the BDC softball team is back in action! It is so great to see employees getting together to have fun both inside and outside the office. In under an hour, enough people have signed up to form 2 teams! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQzzq
Our annual company party took place on Friday, April 6. It's kind of a big deal - many remote employees come to HQ for training and the party, and it is a time to let loose and have a ton of fun (with employees and their guests). There is always a larger buzz and sense of energy when everyone is here at HQ. At the party, we give away prizes, hear from our CEO (he picks a song to represent the year - this year it was "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" by Stevie Wonder), give out annual recognition, have dinner and drinks, and even a photo booth and cotton candy! People keep talking about what a great time they had on Friday! So awesome!
We had our monthly company meeting a little earlier than normal in March. The Sales team hosted the meeting. Their theme - St. Patrick's Day. They all dressed in in green and even created a Sales Team Bingo game - with prizes! The icing on the cake? Our own jolly Leprechaun. He was awesome! We've invited different teams to host the monthly company meetings so we can see how each team and each one of us plays a role in our mission to make it simple to connect and do business.
We like to celebrate big and small moments. After all, "Fun" is one of our company values. We've been working on a big deal recently, and the contract just got signed! Of course we needed to mark the moment with some fun. Our CEO, René, gave our gong a big bang and the clang was heard all around the office! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQjrQ
It's February and there is a palpable buzz in the office of late. Spring feels like it has sprung and we're growing. There are so many new faces and new energies around the office - it's so awesome to see and feel! One of our newer employees said, "Everyone really does embody the company values (which are also deeply aligned with my personal values), and it just feels like a wonderful environment to learn and work in." Looking for a change - check us out!
Happy New Year! 2018 is in full swing - there is a fresh new-year energy in the office today and people all over the office are wishing each other a happy new year! Here's to an amazing new year full of awesomeness and fun!
Can you believe it? The holidays are literally right around the corner. We had some fun festivities last week to celebrate - a nice holiday lunch (and lots of pie), an ugly sweater contest (there were several entrants and no sweater was "ugly" - they were all awesome), a bake-off contest (as if the pie at lunch wasn't enough, we had several home-made desserts to nosh on - the dark chocolate mousse cake by our head of UX was delectable), and a visit from Santa. He had some BDC trivia to ask and gift cards as rewards! It was a fun-filled and baked-goods-filled day! And, we ended up donating 85 gifts and over $1000 to Family Giving Tree! So Awesome! Happy Holidays!
