Team Members from Zimmer Biomet attended a RecruitMilitary event in Miami, Fla., Sept. 6. RecruitMilitary helps employers connect with America’s veterans by hosting veteran career fairs across the United States. “The event was a success. I was impressed with the great candidates that stopped by our table even though the weather conditions in Miami were not optimal. It was great to represent Zimmer Biomet in this event, and I look forward to continuing to do so in the future,” says Luis, a member of the Zimmer Biomet recruiting team.
What’s better than raising money for Feed My Starving Children (FMSC)? Dunking your co-workers! On Aug. 2, leads from the Sports Medicine teams sat on the hot (wet) seat in a dunking booth and allowed Team Members to drench them to raise more than $1,500 for FMSC—enough to feed 19 children for a year. The money raised will be used to purchase food for FMSC’s MobilePack event in Warsaw, Ind., which will take place Oct. 17 to 20. MobilePack events provide an opportunity for volunteers to pack and donate food during a community-wide event. The goal for the Warsaw event is to pack 1,000,000 meals.

Zimmer Biomet supports nonprofits that are improving diversity within the orthopaedics industry. One of those nonprofits is the Perry Initiative, which aims to inspire young women to become leaders in engineering and orthopaedic surgery. Zimmer Biomet has also been instrumental in providing Orthopaedics in Action kits for middle and high school STEM students through the Perry Initiative. The kits include five real-world engineering and orthopaedic surgery challenges. Students master math and science concepts while learning about careers in bioengineering and orthopaedics. “The work we do at Zimmer Biomet transforms the lives of patients all over the world,” said Heather, Team Member, Compliance. “I think it is fortunate that we can introduce so many students, particularly girls and young women, to career options in the field of orthopaedics.”
