On April 19, Team Members at the Guaynabo and Ponce, Puerto Rico, sites participated in the CAP Foundation’s CAPsual Day, an annual fundraiser that supports children battling cancer. More than 150 Team Members participated in the event, raising $2,100 USD. “A lot of our Team Members are still feeling the effects of Hurricane Maria, but that doesn’t dampen their spirit,” said Noelia, HR leader. “They take social responsibility seriously, and when they are given an opportunity to make a difference, they step up and demonstrate their commitment to helping those in need. Our Team Members are great. They truly care.”
On May 4, Zimmer Biomet Team Members joined more than 100,000 leaders for the largest, one-day leadership event in the world. Broadcasted live from Atlanta, Ga., Leadercast Live 2018 featured speakers who explored the theme, “Leading Yourself.” Among the presenters was Joe Torre, Baseball Hall of Fame inductee and Chief Baseball Officer for Major League Baseball. Team Members in Warsaw, Ind., were invited to attend the all-day broadcast in the corporate amphitheater. Attendees networked over breakfast and took part in a discussion on what it means to “Lead Yourself.”

To help develop professionals at the beginning of their career, Zimmer Biomet offers development programs in a few of its business functions. The Finance Development Program (FDP) is a two-year program that develops high-potential graduates into future finance leaders. Did you know April is “Celebrate Diversity Month?” Zimmer Biomet launched its first employee resource group (ERG) in June 2017. Since then, the movement has taken hold in Warsaw and expanded to sites across the U.S. and around the globe. The groups create opportunities to share experiences across gender, culture, ethnicity, and age. Zimmer Biomet is sponsoring the Ride Warsaw + Winona Lake Bike Share Program. Zimmer Biomet-branded bicycles will be unveiled at the 2018 Fat and Skinny Tire Festival in May.
